Impression 5 is a hands-on learning environment that challenges its visitors to experience, discover, and explore the world in which they live. Impression 5 achieves this by producing hands-on exhibits and participatory programs.

L.A.B.S. Science Camps at Impression 5 Science Center are so popular that we have extended our offerings!  In these day camps, students Learn About Basic Science with the help of hands-on activities.

Complete 2009-2010 LABS Schedule

With the exception of half-day camps for 3- to 5-year-olds, all camps meet from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Children may be dropped off as early as 8:00 am and picked up as late as 5:30 pm.  Two snacks are served each day-- just be sure to bring your favorite lunch!

Weeklong Spring L.A.B.S. Camps:  April 5-9, 2010

Ages 3-5:  Weather Scientist:  Members:  $90/week, Not-yet-members:  $110/week

Have you ever wondered what the weather guy does behind the scenes? Learners will explore the water cycle, make wind vanes, and discover the science of weather.   Investigate the wind and make unique windsocks!  Experiment with temperature and explore rain, snow, and sleet!   Get ready to be blown away by cool experiments!

Ages 5-7:  Zaptastic KidsMembers:  $180/week, Not-yet-members:  $220/week

Get ready to shock your senses while learning about static electricity!  Gear up for a hair-raising experience using our Van de Graaff generator and making your own flashlight.  Children will explore the world of electrons, atoms, and circuits with hands-on activities.  Additional fun will include pencil fans and light-up hats!  Don't miss the chance to have a zaptastic time! 

Ages 7-9:  Beach Science:  Members:  $180/week, Not-yet-members:  $220/week  

Get ready for a full week at the beach!  Build sand castles, explore water, and collect seashells.  Learn about the science behind the sun and make incredible Sun Prints.  Explore wind and set sail in amazing floating experiments.   Virtually dissect starfish as we explore these amazing creatures.  Don't worry, you won't need your sunscreen, but you will still have a great time!

Ages 9-12:  Quest Atlantis:  Members:  $180/week, Not-yet-members:  $220/week

Click and go!  Learners will be completely immersed in a virtual world that provokes scientific thinking.   Each quest requires learners to engage in experimentation, discussion, and evaluation.   Get ready to tackle and discuss environmental issues and seek solutions to as many quests as possible. Working with mentors and hands-on activities are only a part of the adventure-join us to see what this is about. Get ready to get lost in a virtual scientific world!

Ages 12-15:  Pirate Science:  Members:  $180/week, Not-yet-members:  $220/week  

Get ready for the science seas as we become pirates!  Learn all about gold, and gemstones.  You will even make your very own crystals!  Set sail for the high seas and explore buoyancy, compasses, and disappearing maps.  Are you ready to board, matey? Hands-on experiments will take you back to the life of a real pirate!
