About

Impression 5 is a hands-on learning environment that challenges its visitors to experience, discover, and explore the world in which they live. Impression 5 achieves this by producing hands-on exhibits and participatory programs.

Impression 5 Science Center and grounds are no smoking for the health of all visitors.

Take a video tour of Impression 5!

Kids and adults alike are encouraged to touch, explore, experiment, and most importantly have lots of fun with everything in the science center!

Many of the exhibits at Impression 5 have interpretive labels to help you explore specific concepts. However, we have purposely left some exhibits "label-less". That means you will have to experiment with the exhibit! Asking questions and trying things out is what science is all about! Don't worry...if you need help, Impression 5 volunteers and staff members are ready and willing to help.

One of our philosophies is that you learn by doing. Please make sure you do more than just look at things!

The links to the left and below will take you to more information and pictures from our main exhibit areas. Have fun!

Impression 5 is proud to partner with the Harley Beatty Foundation and Jackson National Life Insurance Company to create the First Impression Room, an exploration and play space for 0-4 year olds and their caregivers. The First Impression Room is always staffed by a trained Child Development Expert. It is recommended that you bring a complete change of clothes for your child/children. The Water Table is very popular!

The Simple Machines area is one of our newest exhibits. Here you can do all sorts of work, from lifting yourself up on the Pulley Chairs to trying to move 500 pounds of cement! This may seem like it will be hard work, but when you use a Simple Machine to help, it makes work feel easier!

You can pretend you are in the blood stream and find your way through the valves and chambers in this giant heart maze. After that, head over to the Medical Center to learn about all kinds of heart conditions and find out what you can do to keep your heart healthy!
