Light & Color Room

What makes light and can you really see everything?  Our newest exhibit allows you to explore all types of radiation, while focusing on the kind we use every day, visible light.  Explore properties of light such as reflection, refraction, and color addition and subtraction in our darkened Light and Color Room.  The exhibit also explains how light and telescopes are used in the study of stars.  After all, we can't visit the stars in person, so their light is the only way we can learn about them!   Through a partnership with Michigan State University we show how their SOAR Telescope in South America is used to study the heavens.  Our popular Shadow Wall is also located in this exhibit area.
