One Thursday each month during the school year, Impression 5 holds a special Homeschool Science Day. We have developed a series of workshops especially for homeschooling families (see below for topics). Each day is divided into four sessions, geared toward a grade level ranging from pre-school to fifth grade and up. Any homeschooling family is invited to attend the workshops on these days.
Families attending Homeschool Science Days receive the group rate for admission. Please note that the group admission rate is $3.50 per person. Those who plan on attending more than one session should consider becoming Science Center members. For a one-time fee of $55, your family will receive free admission for twelve months, not only at Impression 5, but at all other ASTC member science centers across the state and country. See our Membership page for more information. Also, each workshop will have a $3 per child lab fee.
Each Homeschool Science Day is broken into the following sessions:
Pre-K and Kindergarten: 10:15-10:45
1st and 2nd grades: 10:50-11:30
3rd and 4th grades: 11:35-12:15
5th grade and up: 12:20-1:00
Your family may arrive and check in when the Science Center opens at 10:00. If you have older children, you may time your arrival to coincide with the start-time of your chosen session. Please note that we will make every attempt to begin these sessions promptly at the scheduled times.

Sign up for a ten-session series! Minds In Motion is a great way to provide hands-on instruction within an inquiry-based format. This program is designed to allow students to direct the course of their education while still providing guidance and control. Even the subjects of each series are suggested by the students! Each series meets for ten one-hour sessions. Advance registration and payment is required for the Minds In Motion program. See our Homeschool Program Brochure for the current course schedule.
