Impression 5 is a hands-on learning environment that challenges its visitors to experience, discover, and explore the world in which they live. Impression 5 achieves this by producing hands-on exhibits and participatory programs.

Impression 5 Science Center and grounds are no smoking for the health of all visitors.

Homeschool Science Series

Homeschool Science Series is a workshop series designed for homeschool students.  Each series is eight weeks long, and will introduce the learners to scientific principles.  The scientific method will be used during the hands-on exploration of each topic.  Workshops motivate learners to explore the world of science through engaging, interactive experiments!

Homeschool students in grades 3 to 6

Get Registered:

Reservations are required, so register today by calling (517) 485-8116, extension 32.  Space is limited!
For each 8-week workshop series, the cost of attendance is as follows:
  • $40.00/Member
  • $50.00/Not-Yet Member
Payment is required upon reservation. 
A $15.00 cancellation fee per 8-week series applies once the series has begun.

Homeschool Science Days

Join us for Homeschool Science Days, a program designed for homeschool families to explore the world of science through hands-on experimentation.

Each Homeschool Science Day features a different workshop topic and an opportunity to inquire about science!  

When?                                                

Second Thursday of each month, starting at 1 p.m.
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade: 1:00-1:45 p.m.
  • 2nd and 3rd grade:  2:00-3:00 p.m.  
  • 4th and 5th grade:  2:00-3:00 p.m.            
  • 6th grade & up:  1:00-2:15 p.m.

No Reservations Required!
Members receive free admission and just pay a lab fee of $4 per child.  Not-Yet Members pay admission and the lab fee.  Families can take advantage of the group rate fee ($4 per child and free chaperones!).
